Alexia obtained her Bachelor's degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina. She obtained her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University and is awaiting licensure testing. Alexia is currently a Ph. D. Candidate in Christian Counseling at Newburgh Theological Seminary to become a Certified Christian Counselor. Alexia embodies the practices of marriage and family therapist’s approach to mental health from a systemic perspective with an awareness that there are multiple factors in society that influence our everyday lives.
Alexia has served in various social science fields such as psychiatric hospitals, social service agencies, and in-home based services in the community for the last 10 years. She continues to dually serve as a case manager in the community and has a unique view as a provider of mental health services and an advocate for mental health awareness. She continues to utilize her experience to bridge the gap for individuals who experience oppression in all facets that may inhibit their ability to live a sustainable life.
She works with individuals, couples and families! She incorporates therapeutic services with children and adolescents with behavioral challenges. She utilizes parent psychoeducation and behavior therapy to provide support to families. She utilizes techniques from CBT and Experiential Therapy.
