Amanda Pickens is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate who is passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate the complexities of life and offering a space where they feel seen, understood, and supported. She is drawn towards working with people who have experienced complex trauma, or the experience of multiple, often relational, heartbreaks that lead to feeling disconnected from oneself.
Amanda enjoys working with couples and individuals ages 16 and older and integrates Relational Psychodynamic and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as employs somatic interventions. Her work with individuals focuses on exploring the impact of early life experiences and relationships in order to move towards acceptance and compassion of the internal experience and attunement to the wisdom of the body. Her work with couples focuses on slowing down to understand patterns of disconnection and discovering deeper connection through new ways of relating. She has also completed training in Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a trauma-informed model that integrates body-based awareness and nervous system regulation to assist with processing and healing past wounds.
Amanda received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in 2026. Prior to her role as a therapist, she received her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Auburn University and worked in corporate America. Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys slow mornings, walks with her pup Lola, chasing after her nieces and nephews (who know her as Panda), and cozy afternoons reading.
